Every Benchmark carbon barrel begins with a precision cut-rifled stainless steel barrel core manufactured using Benchmark’s single-point cut rifling process. After the rifling process, the bore is carefully finished to ensure smooth internal surfaces that promote consistent velocities and reduced fouling. The stainless core is then wrapped in high-strength carbon fiber, increasing stiffness while significantly reducing the overall weight compared to traditional heavy steel barrels.

Because these barrels are supplied as unfinished barrel blanks, they allow gunsmiths to configure the barrel precisely for the rifle being built. A qualified gunsmith will machine the barrel tenon to fit the action, cut the chamber for the selected cartridge, and thread or crown the muzzle as needed.
